Text Messaging Policy

This document (the “Policy”) articulates the terms and conditions governing SMS and/or MMS message communication from and with Permit Philly LLC. The Policy is adopted in addition to the Permit Philly LLC Terms of Service, which can be found at permitphilly.com/terms.

(1.) Definitions

(a.) Terms used with initial capital letters, and/or terms noted in quotation marks, will have the meanings specified – applicable to singular, plural, and descriptive forms – for all purposes of this Policy; unless context clearly otherwise indicates.

(2.) Purposes

(a.) Permit Philly LLC (“we” or “us” or “Permit Philly” or “PP”) uses SMS and/or MMS Messaging (“texting,” “sending [a] text[s],” “messaging,” or “text messaging”) to communicate with existing or potential clients, municipal officials, and other professionals about their projects, subject to the limitations of this Policy.

(b.) Permit Philly does not use text messaging for marketing or promotional purposes.

(3.) Consent

(a.) The Message Recipient (“you” or “Recipient”) consents to receive SMS and/or MMS Messages from Permit Philly in one or more of the following ways:

  • Texting a Permit Philly Phone Number
  • Responding to an SMS and/or MMS Message (“text” or “message”) from Permit Philly, except as described in section (3)(b), below
  • Indicating interest in Permit Philly’s Services via any other method of communication, including (but not limited to) email, phone call, or online form; and providing a Phone Number to Permit Philly in that communication

(b.) The Message Recipient can refuse or withdraw consent at any time by responding “STOP” to any text from any Permit Philly Number.

(c.) While we can only guarantee text messages will cease upon receipt of the “STOP” command (see previous section), Permit Philly will make a good-faith effort to stop texting at Recipient request, even if that request is not made in the form of the “STOP” command.

(d.) The Recipient can resume text communication with Permit Philly after texting “STOP” by texting “START.”

(4.) Message Frequency and Data Usage

(a.) When texting Permit Philly, your phone service provider’s data and message rates may apply.

(b) The frequency of Permit Philly’s text messages to you will vary widely, depending mostly on your communication preferences. For example: if you text a Permit Philly Number with questions about a project, we will likely reply by text; and if you continue the conversation by text, we will likely initiate future conversations about the project via text. You are not obligated to communicate with Permit Philly via text, and are welcome to request contact via email or phone call instead.
