This document (the “Policy”) describes how Permit Philly LLC collects and uses information you share via SMS and/or MMS message communication with Permit Philly LLC. The Policy is adopted in addition to the Permit Philly LLC Terms of Service, which can be found at permitphilly.com/terms, and the Permit Philly LLC Text Messaging Policy, which can be found at permitphilly.com/text-messaging-policy.

(1.) Definitions

(a.) Terms used with initial capital letters, and/or terms noted in quotation marks, will have the meanings specified – applicable to singular, plural, and descriptive forms – for all purposes of this Policy; unless context clearly otherwise indicates.

(2.) Purposes

(a.) Permit Philly LLC (“we” or “us” or “Permit Philly” or “PP”) uses SMS and/or MMS Messaging (“texting,” “sending [a] text[s],” “messaging,” or “text messaging”) to communicate with existing or potential clients, municipal officials, and other professionals about their projects, subject to the limitations of this Policy and our general Text Messaging Policy.

(b.) Permit Philly does not use text messaging for marketing or promotional purposes.

(3.) Personal Information

(a.) We will never share your mobile opt-in data with any third party. This data includes your phone number, as well as a timestamp of any opt-in and any associated metadata.

(b.) We may request and collect the following personal information from the Message Recipient (“you” or “Recipient”) at various stages of the Recipient’s text communication with Permit Philly:

• Contact Information such as name, email address, mailing address, or phone number
• Project Information such as property address(es) or estimated costs of construction work
• Business Information such as number of employees or Employer Identification Number
• Unique Identifiers for municipal accounts only such as a user name, account number, or password

You are not obligated to share any requested information over text, and may ask to share it by another means at any time.

(c.) We will not request the following personal information over text message:

• Unique Identifiers (such as user name, account number, and password) for any online account or profile you might have besides accounts for online municipal permitting systems or related municipal portals.
• Your Social Security Number (if, to file applications, we need this number, we will request it over a voice call, and never by text message)
  • Please note that we cannot prevent you from voluntarily texting your Social Security Number to us during a project, though we will never request or recommend this.

(d.) Permit Philly may store copies of text messages with you in our internal project management software or in our cloud servers as part of our record-keeping procedure for each of our projects, leads, and clients.

(e.) If you provide Permit Philly personal information about others via text, or if others give us your information, Permit Philly will only use that information for the specific reason for which it was provided to us.  We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties for promotional purposes.

(f.) We will share specific personal information with third parties only in the ways that are described below:

(a.) If you wish to review this policy or the related messaging privacy policy, or simply to request assistance, text “HELP” at any time.

(b.) If you wish to stop receiving messages from Permit Philly, you can text “STOP” to any text from any Permit Philly Number

(c.) You can resume text communication with Permit Philly after texting “STOP” by texting “START.”
